The Challenge: The Network Fails When You Need It Most

Command vehicles deploy to exactly the places where connectivity is worst. In a dense urban incident, cell towers are overloaded by the crowd you are managing. In a rural response, towers are few and far between. A hurricane or wildfire can take out the local carrier entirely.

A single-carrier hotspot or router is a single point of failure. When it drops, CAD access, situational video, and coordination with home base drop with it — in the middle of an already strenuous situation.

The Solution: Bonded Multi-Carrier + FirstNet

We design command networks assuming any single connection will fail. Peplink SpeedFusion bonding combines multiple cellular links — commercial carriers and FirstNet — into one connection at the packet level. If one carrier degrades or drops, traffic keeps flowing over the others without interrupting sessions, calls, or video.

A Peplink MAX mobile router in the vehicle pairs with a Balance router or FusionHub at headquarters. Depending on the platform, a single vehicle can bond 2, 4, or more cellular connections, with roof-mounted high-gain antennas engineered to avoid RF signal loss.
